CT Plus begins Guernsey operations
Posted: 11 Apr 2012
On 1 April 2012 HCT Group began its contract to operate the bus service in Guernsey. The service - buses.gg - operates daily, taking passengers almost anywhere on the Island.
The bus service is operated by our CT Plus subsidiary on behalf of the Environment Department. The network of bus routes provides a high frequency of services to the Island’s main shopping centres, workplaces, beaches and visitor attractions. You can find out more about bus services in Guernsey here.
Dai Powell, HCT Group Chief Executive, said “We are delighted to be running bus services in Guernsey. We are keen to run a high quality, professional service and also have positive impact as a social enterprise, with CT Plus becoming a real part of Island life.”
In the first instance, our aim has been to ensure as smooth a transition as possible from the previous operator – keeping timetables, routes and prices the same. Any service improvements will only come after close consultation with the community in Guernsey and with the Environment Department.
In line with our social enterprise approach, we intend to reinvest money made on the bus contract to establish a community transport service on Guernsey – helping older people and people with disabilities to get out and about.
