CT Plus win Guernsey bus contract

Posted: 13 Mar 2015

CT Plus have won a five-and-a-half year contract to provide bus services on the island of Guernsey, coming into effect on 1st April 2015.

CT Plus, which currently operate the island’s bus service, offered the best ‘value for money’ according to Steve Smith, chief officer from the Department of Environment.

Dai Powell, CEO of HCT Group, the parent group of CT Plus Guernsey, said “CT Plus are very pleased to have been chosen as the provider of the new bus contract in Guernsey”.  He pledged to work with the States to improve service provision, introduce better online and real-time information, and improve training and support for staff.  “We feel these measures will further drive up the quality of the service and be welcomed by everyone”.

The bidding process included a number of safeguards on community engagement, supporting the needs of disabled users and customer satisfaction.  The contract itself also links any extension to an ambitious target of increasing local, rather than visitor, patronage.  There will also be a review of progress three years into the contract.
