Innovative community transport service launched in Jersey
Posted: 04 May 2015
An innovative new community transport service called ParishLink brought to you by the Parishes of St Lawrence, St Mary and St John, and supported by LibertyBus, was launched last week.
Your ParishLink has been designed to serve areas where it is not commercially viable to operate a mainstream bus. The routes are driven by volunteer drivers and the routes include all three Parishes, Mont Cochon (Jersey Hospice) and Greve de Lecq. All of the routes connect with the main LibertyBus network at key hubs.
The launch ceremony was attended by the Connétables from the three Parishes, Christopher Taylor of St John, Deidre Mezbourian of St Lawrence and Juliette Gallichan of St Mary who all spoke positively of the difference the service will bring to their communities.
The ceremony was also attended by Tristen Dodd, Director of Transport at Transport and Technical Services at the States of Jersey, Dai Powell CEO and John Smart CFO for HCT Group, the parent of LibertyBus, and Kevin Hart, General Manager for HCT in the Channel Islands.
