HCT Group celebrating success in red bus tenders
Posted: 05 Oct 2016
HCT Group has won four new London red bus routes over the past few months and successfully retendered for five current services.
We have enjoyed a run of success in the latest round of tenders from Transport for London (TfL), winning routes W11, W16, W19 and 397, increasing the number of buses we operate during peak hours by 40. When combined with our November 2015 win of route 26, it will bring the total number of red bus routes operated by us to 13.
We have also successfully retained routes 309, 385, 388, W12 and W13, which were up for retender. Each contract from TfL runs for up to 7 years.
Speaking about the success, Dai Powell, HCT Group Chief Executive, said “Increasing success in the London red bus market – one of the most competitive and technically challenging tendered markets in the global bus industry – shows what a social enterprise can achieve. These wins will allow us to grow the organisation and increase our social impact.”
“The victory is a testament to the combined effort of all staff involved in our red bus operation – driving staff, operations staff, engineering, management and support staff. Our continued drive for outstanding quality has proved to TfL that we can be trusted with further work.”
