Each year we conduct a staff satisfaction survey, giving colleagues a stronger voice. The survey explores how people feel about their role, the organisation and how communication and dialogue might be improved. Results are shared across the organisation, with each region developing an action plan to follow up on staff feedback.
Jane worked for a big bus company for years, but she joined our team in Derbyshire to give something back to the community. She loves her job, and doesn’t get that ‘Sunday feeling’ any more!
‘I have been a PCV driver for 10 years – I used to drive service buses for one of the big bus companies. I wanted to give something back to the community, and I found this driving job at Derbyshire Community Transport.
‘Most days I drive a shopper service – a door to door service for about 12 passengers, going to a local supermarket. I drive the same routes each week, so I get to know people, and have a chat or help them with their coats.
‘My passengers really appreciate the service. They have worked all their lives, and they couldn’t get out otherwise, so I find it really rewarding. It’s good to know you’re helping people.
‘There is no comparison to my old job – this is the best job I’ve ever had. I don’t get that ‘Sunday feeling’ any more! It’s a fabulous, rewarding job, and a brilliant firm to work for! I’ve already managed to convince my partner to join, and I’d recommend it to anyone!’
